Green Bay at Chicago

Aaron Rodgers was ready to lead Green Bay on a game-winning drive. He was ready to lead Green Bay to 3-0. And he was leading them downfield. Then he threw a pass to James Jones. Jones ran, then he got cornered by Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher.

Urlacher knocked the ball out, Chicago recovered and that led to the game-winning field goal in a 20-17 victory over Chicago. The Bears are now 3-0.

Chicago got the rock first, and they went on a nice 51 yard drive. However, the drive ended with Robbie Gould missing a field goal, and Green Bay got the ball.

Deep passes to Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley set up Aaron Rodgers' TD pass to Greg Jennings on a slant. Rodgers threw the ball perfectly, Jennings caught it and Green Bay was up 7-0.

Cutler led Chicago into Packers territory again, but this time he got intercepted. At the end of the first quarter, Green Bay led 7-0.

In the second, Chicago kept going. Cutler scrambled 16 yards around the left end on 3rd and 15, and then they got into Packer territory. But a sack finished the 3rd drive in Green Bay territory out of 3 drives, and Green Bay got the ball.

Aaron Rodgers found Jermichael Finley over the middle for 28 yards, then he hit John Kuhn for 10. After Kuhn ran for 7 more, Rodgers hit Finley for a first down. Play by play they moved into Chicago territory, and Mason Crosby made a 38 yard field goal. With 4:41 left in the half, Green Bay led by 10.

After a kick out of bounds, Charles Woodson tackled Matt Forte for a 7 yard loss. 2 incomplete passes followed, and the Bears had to give possession back to Green Bay. But the Pack Attack had to punt, and Devin Hester made some nice moves to get the Bears at the Pack 44 yard line.

Cutler hit a wide open Johnny Knox down the left sideline for 31 yards, and then they got to the 9 on 3rd and goal. Cutler hit Greg Olson on a quick slant for a 9 yard TD, and Chicago was on the board.

The Packers got the ball again, but they couldn't do anything with it in the 3 plays before halftime. However, the Pack started the second half with the ball. Rodgers hit Jermichael Finley for 20 yards, Brandon Jackson ran for 11 and the Packers were in Chicago territory.

Suddenly, short passes had the Packers at the Chicago 15. Then Rodgers hit Finley for a touchdown, but holding took it back. The Packers looked like they had an easy 3 with the best kicker in the league, but the kick was blocked. Chicago got the ball back!

Chicago got to the Packers 33, then Jay Cutler scrambled for 11 yards and threw to Desmond Clark for 12. Suddenly it was 3rd and 6 at the Green Bay 6.

Cutler completed a pass to Earl Bennett, who caught the ball at about the 3 inch line. Chicago challenged the ruling, and it was upheld. On fourth down Desmond Clark dropped a wide open pass, and the Pack got the ball back. At the end of the third it was still 10-7.

The Packers went 3 and out, and they had to punt. Devin Hester, a man who used to be the best punt returner in the NFL, ran to the right, broke a tackle, raced down the sideline, hopped over punter Tim Masthay and scored. Chicago had their first lead of the game.

On the next drive, Aaron Rodgers completed 6 straight passes for 49 yards, including 14 and 11 yard passes to James Jones and Donald Driver. Then John Kuhn ran for 18 yards, and the Packers were suddenly faced with 3rd and goal at the 3.

Rodgers couldn't find an open receiver, so he ran 5 yards down the sideline and dove for the pylon. He scored, and the Packers were back on top with 6:52 to go.

On the next play, Jay Cutler threw an interception, but a roughing the passer on Frank Zombo took it away. Then Cutler hit Matt Forte for 15 yards, Greg Olson for 16, and then Chicago made a field goal. With 3:59 left, it was all up to Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.

Rodgers scrambled for 17 yards on one play, but a grounding took them back to the 38 for second and 20. Then came the play that changed the game.

Rodgers threw to James Jones, who gained 12 yards. However, he got stopped by Lance Briggs, and then Urlacher knocked the ball, out of his hands. Right before the ball went out of bounds, Tim Jennings picked it up. Chicago got the ball at the Green Bay 46.

On first down, Green Bay dropped an interception. But a holding penalty redid the down, and the Bears were pushed back into their own territory. But on second down Greg Olson picked up 21 yards, and it was first down.

On second down, Nick Collins intercepted Cutler, but pass interference on Morgan Burnett took the pick away. Matt Forte ran for 8 yards on 3 carries, and on 4th down, Robbie Gould nailed a 19 yard field goal. With 4 seconds left, Chicago led 20-17.

Green Bay made a nice effort to keep going, but a forward lateral ended the game. The Bears were 3-0 for the first time since the Rex Grossman era, and they took over first in the NFC North. Chicago is the only remaining undefeated team in the NFC.

Chicago travels to the Meadowlands to face the Giants, while the Packers host Jahvid Best and the Lions.

AFC Player of the Week: Anquan Boldin; Boldin caught 3 touchdowns in the Ravens 24-17 win over the Browns.

NFC Player of the Week: Michael Vick, Eagles; Vick threw for 3 touchdowns and ran for 1 as the Eagles improved to 2-0 with Vick. They beat Jacksonville 28-3.

Most clutch performance: Leon Washington, Seahawks; Washington returned 2 kickoffs for touchdowns by finding a hole and taking it to the house.

Game of the Week: Green Bay 17, Chicago 20.

Surprise team pick: Chicago Bears

Super Bowl pick: Green Bay over Baltimore.
