Emerald Bowl recap

A great Emerald Bowl between 2 powerhouses in California and Miami made this Emerald Bowl great. But Zack Follett's sack with 3:28 to go where Jacory Harris fumbled and Cameron Jordan returned the fumble 6 yards to the 2 and on 2nd and goal Nate Longshore found Anthony Miller [ Miller's first catch] and California stopped Miami and won 24-17 depsite Nate Longshore poor final game[10-21] and not throwing to deep receivers and Jeff Tedford didn't put in Kevin Riley and Jahvid Best ran for 186 yards on 20 carries and 2 scores including a 42 yard TD run in the first. Miami's run defense struggled again while allowing 217 rush yards to California. For Miami Graig Cooper caused trouble for Cal depsite only rushing for 63 yards, but Lee Chambers ran for 60 yards too. Jacory Harris threw 2 nice TD's from 9 and 6 yards but threw 1 pick and couldn't score from the 9 on third down [pass complete to the 5] and had to settle for a Matt Bosher FG. Gieorgio Tavekio missed a 34

Champs Sports Bowl preview

The Champs Sports Bowl features 2 former powerhouses in Wisconsin and Florida State and Christan Ponder vs. Dustin Sherer at quarterback and Antone Smith and P.J Hill at running back, and Greg Carr, Bert Reed, Taiwan Easterling and a lot more good receivers for Florida State vs. Garrett Graham, well, the Seminoles probably win that battle. I think that Wisconsin will go on the ground more, so the Seminoles need to work on their run defense and I think for Florida State on offense, they will run on only 1st and sometimes 3rd and will pass to Greg Carr for 2 scores, Taiwan Easterling for 1 TD, Bert Reed for 1 score and Antone Smith will run 1 in and Wisconsin's pass defense wont really show up in a 38-28 Seminole win where Hill runs for 139 yards and 1 TD but Carr catches for 123 yards and 2 scores.

Meineke Bowl Preview

This is a great road test for Pat White's final Mountaineer game as they go on the road to play a UNC team playing on their own turf. North Carolina already won @ 7-5 Rutgers 44-12 and vs. 24 Uconn 38-12, as they look for another Big East blowout. The Heels are coming off a 28-20 win over 4-8 Duke and a 41-10 home loss to 6-6 North Carolina State. West Virginia, is coming off a defensive struggle 13-7 win over South Florida and a 19-15 loss to rival Pittsburgh. If Pat White can throw and run well, his receivers can catch passes, and Noel Devine can throw well, I think North Carolina's T.J Yates wont be able to play as well as White and Pat White goes off a winner 30-17.

Emerald Bowl preview

I think if Cal can take advantage of their opportunities with Jahvid Best and Nate Longshore, they can dominate. With Robert Marve suspended, freshman Jacory Harris will start at QB for Miami, and with Nate Longshore starting his final game, if Longshore wins the Qb battle Cal can win big. With Greig Cooper and Jahvid Best at TB, watch out for the running. Best ran for 311 yards on 19 carries in a 48-7 win over Washington, and Miami allowed 472 yards vs. Georgia Tech and 219 yards on the ground vs. North Carolina State. I think Best won't worry about Cal's injury prone O-Line, score 2 long TD's, Vereen scores from 2 yards, Longshore throws 4 scores and outplays Harris and Best dominates Cooper in the RB matchup, and if Cal's defense can play like the team with 23 picks, 3rd in the nation, I think Harris throws 3 picks and Cal wins 52-31.

Air Hockey League Underway

The BBD Air Hockey League and 4 teams: the Blue Falcons, Woodchucks, Shooting Stars, and Champions. Here are team websites! bluefalcon.com BLUE FALCONS BEAT WOODCHUCKS 11-8 IN LOW SCORING AFFAIR Blue Falcons take around 10-25 shots while Woodchucks most shots in a possesion was 4 as the Falcons stalled and won a defensive battle where Baily Deeter guarded most shots for a 2-0-1 record. BLUE FALCONS, WOODCHUCKS TIE Blue Falcons lose 37-42 to Woodchucks, but unfair scoreboard makes score 39-39 as the Blue Falcons Baily Deeter guided the Falcons from a 7 point defecit to make their record 1-0-1. BLUE FALCONS BEAT SHOOTING STARS IN CLASSIC MATCHUP 32-23 A Blue Falcon team that led 30-13 blew a big lead but it was to late for the Stars to rally back as the Blue Falcons won the first round of the playoffs as Baily Deeter and Logan Deeter played well. BLUE FALCONS GET READY FOR FINALS VS. CHAMPIONS The Blue Falcons get ready for the tournament finals vs. Byron Deeter's Champions, coming o

2008 BOWL GAMES TO BE SENSATIONAL THIS YEAR Wednesday, December 10, 2008 This year we have 2 holiday break treats: Christmas and Bowl Games. About 15 games are promised to go down to the wire. With Cal-Miami, Florida-Oklahoma, Ohio St.-Texas, Rutgers – NC St., Oklahoma St. – Oregon and TCU- Boise St., why not? Some poll results include North Carolina and West Virginia tied at 50, Cal 75-25 over Miami, BYU 75-25 over Arizona, and Florida St. over Wisconsin 88-12. In the Emerald Bowl, Miami needs to stop the Pac-10’s leading rusher in Jahvid Best, and I don’t think they will and Cal wins 38-19. I think Ian Johnson keys Boise St. to a sensational Poinsettia Bowl win over TCU. I think Ohio St. cannot stop Colt McCoy and Texas beats Ohio St. 41-27. Jerimiah Masoli outplays Zac Robinson and Oregon beats Oklahoma St. 52-48. Florida’s offense is too much for Oklahoma’s defense and Florida wins 45-31. Pac-10 bowls

It is almost bowl season, but 7/8/9 teams have accepted bowl bids, and the Pac-10 is a tough picture. We talk about it now. Rose Bowl: USC Opponent: Penn St.[ official] Southern Cal can go to the Rose Bowl if they avoid any upset vs. rival UCLA in the Carroll/Neuhisel rivalry. UCLA is out of a bowl but still wants upset v. USC. 2 years ago SC lost at the Bruins in a defensive struggle, 13-9. They win 31-10 at UCLA and go to the Rose Bowl. I think PSU wins 23-17 in a defensive struggle. Holiday Bowl: Oregon Opponent: Missouri Oregon increased their Holiday Bowl chances with a 65-38 Civil War win over OSU and will go unless SC loses to UCLA. Then they go to the Sun Bowl, Emerald Bowl or Las Vegas Bowl. Mizzzou would go to the Fiesta Bowl with a Big 12 conference title over 3 Oklahoma. Masoli, Johnson and the rest of the OU players like LeGarrete Blount lead OU to a 45-17 win. Sun Bowl: Oregon St. Opponent: Pittsburgh A loss to Oregon lost the Beavers Rose Bowl hopes and need UCLA to beat
