No-hitter; World Cup Update

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Tampa Bay Rays
Edwin Jackson threw the second no-hitter in Diamondbacks history Friday night as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0.

Despite walking 8 batters and throwing 149 pitches, Jackson didn't let Tampa Bay's balls get by anyone. But he walked 7 batters in the first 3 innings, and in the third he got put in a jam.

But he got out of a jam after a spectacular play by Mark Reynolds, and the no-no kept going. Jackson had so much control, and he was still going strong in the 9th inning.

He struck out B.J Upton on a perfect fastball, then he got Hank Blalock to fly out on a sinker. Next up was Jason Bartlett, and he hit a chopper to shortstop and Jackson had the no-no.

Jackson got many people down low, and his sinker was amazing. This is the 3rd no-no or perfecto out of the last 5 against Tampa Bay, and the 3rd straight against a Florida team.

This is the 267th no-hitter in MLB history and the first for Edwin Jackson. Surpirsingly, Jackson is just 5-6, and his ERA is 4.63.

But none of that mattered on Friday night.

Uruguay vs. South Korea (brief)
Luis Suarez scored 2 goals, including the game-winner as Uruguay advanced to the Round of 8 with a 2-1 win over South Korea. Uruguay will play the winner of the US against Ghana.

Suarez's first goal came from a tough angle, but the net was open. He put it away, and Uruguay led 1-0 at halftime.

But Lee-Chuyoung knew it wasn't over yet. He scored in the second half, and it was 1-1. South Korea now had hope, and belief.

However, Uruguay got the ball down the field, and Luis Suarez got the ball. At first, it looked like it would go wide right.

But then a nasty curve came on, and it hit the side of the post and went into the net, and the last team to qualify for the Cup took the lead. 10 minutes later, they won.

And it was all because of Luis Suarez.
