FIFA World Cup Action

Today we had a huge upset. The favorite went down to the Swiss, Chile handled Honduras, and Uruguay took care of South Africa. Find out what happened right here.

Honduras 0, Chile 1
Mauricio Isla set up Jean Beausejour with a beautiful pass to score the only goal for Chile in a 1-0 win.
South Africa 0, Uruguay 3
Diego Forlan scored in the 24th and the 80th minute as Uruguay beat South Africa 3-0.
Spain vs. Switzerland
No one saw it coming. No one thought it would happen. No one believed it would happen. No one, except Switzerland.

And they were right.

Gelson Fernandes scored on a short kick that just barely got away from Fernandes’ foot, and the Swiss upset favorite Spain 1-0.

Spain had many chances, but Swiss goalie Diego Benaglio stopped them all. He made a huge save in the 24th minute where a hard shot came at him, and he caught the ball.

When the game ended, Fernandes went to his knees and raised his arms up high. He knew that Switzerland pulled off an upset that would forever be remembered.
