MLB Look-In; Stanley Cup Finals Game 2

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Chicago Blackhawks
From the moment the puck dropped, both goalies were unstoppable. Michael Leighton didn't let anything get by him, and Antti Neimi stopped great one-timers and made some nice glove saves.

But 28 seconds changed the game.

Marian Hossa scored off of a rebound with 2:51 in the second period, and Ben Eager got the puck past Michael Leighton's glove as Chicago beat Philadelphia 2-1 to take a 2-0 series lead. Game 3 is Wednesday at 4:30 PM PT.

Antti Neimi used his instincts to block quick shots, and use his leg and his glove. The Flyers had some great shots, and they probably could have scored 5 goals against Evgeni Nabokov. But Neimi was unstoppable.

The Blackhawks defense helped out, too. Neimi had help all playoffs with blocked shots, and Chicago had 18 in Game 2.

Although the Blackhawks have averaged 4 goals per game, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Dustin Byfulgien have not scored. In fact, Toews and Kane don't have a single point this series. So if those 2 can step up, and Chicago plays at the same level they are now, the Hawks have a chance at a sweep.

Neimi made 33 saves, and in the third period he was getting worked. Philadelphia had the puck in their offensive zone for about 14 minutes of the third, and Philadelphia kept trying to push the puck past Neimi. But he was too strong, and since Philadelphia couldn't get air on the shot, Neimi only had to use his legs.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants
Ubaldo Jimenez knew that he had to be at his best. Facing Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants, he knew he would have to perform.

He did.

Jimenez struck out 9, tossed a 4-hitter and a complete game as the Rockies shut out the Giants 4-0 on Memorial Day. Colorado is 26-23, while the Giants are 27-23.

In the second, Clint Barnes singled 2 home, and Todd Helton doubled in Seth Smith in the 5th. After a bad throw to first base, Colorado scored again to take a 4-0 lead.

Pablo Sandoval went 3/4 on Jimenez, while Freddy Sanchez got an infield hit. But Jimenez didn't allow a single runner to get past second base, as Juan Uribe flied out with runners on first and second.

Bengie Molina thought he had himself a homer, but Seth Smith made a great catch at the wall. Jimenez didn't have much help in the first 3 innings, when he struck out the first 2 batters of each inning. After 4 innings, Jimenez had 7 K's.

Jimenez pitched another shutout, another complete game, and he grabbed another win. Jimenez got some Giants fooled and swinging at change-ups and curveballs, while San Francisco just couldn't put up any runs.

Jimenez is now 10-1 with an ERA of 0.78. Ubaldo is the first pitcher to 10 wins, and he has the lowest ERA in the majors.
