Celtics vs. Lakers; Sports Update

The Los Angeles Lakers have the tallest guys in the league, and technically, they have the best defense in the league. They just have to put it together.

The Lakers secrets have been revealed.

Kobe scored 26, Pau Gasol scored 17 and the Lakers defense held Boston to just 67 points, and the Lakers beat the Celtics 89-67 to force Game 7.

The Lakers defense would not let Boston in the paint. And when they did, Boston was forced to take a bad shot. With Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol both over 7 feet tall, it will be hard to score over the Two Trees.

If the Lakers had given this kind of effort at the start of the year, they could have been 70-12 and a team that went 12-1 in the playoffs, and a team that beat the Celtics in 5 or 6 games. But if they play like this in Game 7, LA could easily have another trophy.

Game 7 is Thursday night at 6 PM PT in Los Angeles.

Prediction: LA 99, Boston 91

Report: Tom Izzo will stay at Michigan State. Izzo declined an offer from the Cavaliers to coach in Cleveland, and to try to be the next coach to persuade LeBron to stay.

Report: The Pac-10 has made an offer to Utah to come to the Pac-10. The Pac-10 already got Colorado 6 days ago, and they are looking to complete the Pac-12 picture.

Jean Beausejour scored a goal off of a beautiful pass by Mauricio Isla as Chile beat Honduras 1-0 for their first WC win in 48 years.

A's Fall To White Sox On Walk-Off Home Run

In late innings, the Oakland Athletics are almost unstoppable. However, Jordan Danks found a way to stop the A's. Danks hit a home run to right with two outs in the ninth to propel the White Sox to a 4-3 win over the A's. Both teams are competing in the AL Wild Card race, so the loss is crucial for the A's, who received a solid outing from Brandon McCarthy in his return from the DL. McCarthy allowed three earned runs in six-plus innings pitched, and the two teams were tied after seven innings. Both teams received solid efforts from the bullpen, but the White Sox triumphed at the end. Dayan Viciedo, A.J Pierzynski and Alexi Ramirez also homered, all taking advantage of mistakes by McCarthy. McCarthy gave Ramirez a meatball in the fourth, and he hit it deep to left field. Viciedo and Pierzynski both hit outside pitches into the seats for the White Sox.
