World Series

27th championship. Back to back. This is what is at stake in the 2009 World Series.

C.C Sabathia, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Mark Texiara lead the Yankees against Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Cole Hamels and the Phillies.

I think the hitting is pretty much even, and it should be a high scoring series. But, with that in mind, pitching and fielding will decide the series.

With C.C Sabathia, A.J Burnett, and Andy Pettitte pitching, that shouldn't be a problem. If the Yankees mop up fielding issues and don't allow many hits they will be in great shape to take home 27.

For the Phillies, with Brett Myers, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels, their pitching may be in better shape. But, I think the Yankees hitting will pick apart the Phillies D, and this will be a challenge for the Phillies.

My pick is the Yankees in 6 because I think they have slightly better hitting and I think they will mop up fielding issues, but I think the Phils will be a challenge. The 2 teams played this year, and the Phillies won 2-1. That shouldn't be the case this time around.
