Wild finish in Tulsa

Arizona at Texas
Derrick Williams wasn't having the night of his life. He had barely made over 50 percent of his free throws and he had just missed a possible tying layup. But that would all change with one play.

Williams converted a 3 point play with 9 seconds left as Arizona shocked Texas 70-69 and advanced to the Sweet 16, where they take on Duke.

Arizona started playing well early, with Brandon Lavender making a pair of 3's and Jordin Mayes hitting 3 in the first half. Arizona led 36-25 at the half, and even though Mayes drained another 3 Texas still had Arizona right where they wanted them.

The Longhorns then went ahead and held the lead with 27 seconds left, but Arizona had the ball. Derrick Wiliams had the ball in his hands and took a tough layup, but he missed it. Texas had the ball with 14 seconds left and seemed to have the game locked up.

In that previous sentence, seemed would be the key word. A rare 5 second violation was called on the Longhorns, and Arizona got the ball. On a pick and roll, Williams set a pick and received a perfect pass from Fogg.

Williams ran into Jordan Hamilton, his former AAU teammate, and lofted the ball into the air. It hit the glass and fell into the hoop, and then Williams made the free throw to make up for a bad foul shooting night.

J'Covan Brown of Texas still had a chance, but great defense by Arizona forced him to huck up a tough shot. It wasn't even close, and Arizona had survived the Horns.
