Top 10 Episodes of the Simpsons

The Simpsons has been running for 22 years now and has produced 477 quality episodes, but only a few can stand out as the greatest Simpsons episodes ever. So here is my list.

10. The Bob Next Door, Season 21: Bart's enemy Sideshow Bob returns and moves in next door to the Simpsons with a re-attached face. No one except for Bart knows that "Walt Warren", his cellmate's name, is really Sideshow Bob. But when Bart sees Walt Warren in Bob's cell, he finally believes that Bob is locked up. Bob invites Bart to a baseball game, and Bart accepts the ticket and the 2 head off. While on the drive, Bart learns that he was right all along and Sideshow Bob is taking him to the Five Corners to kill him. However, the real Walt Warren and the cops track Bob down, and the Simpson family finds Bart.

9. Call of the Simpsons, Season 1: When Ned Flanders gets a new RV, Homer is jealous and buys an RV. They go on a long trip, but while driving there Homer tries to take a "shortcut" through the woods. They almost drive off a cliff and lose the RV, so they are all alone. Bart, Homer and Maggie set off to find food, but Maggie is adopted by a family of caring grizzly bears. Marge and Lisa are on their own but thriving, while Bart and Homer mistook Maggie for a monster and ended up losing their clothes. Later in the episode, Homer jumps into a river of mud and is mistook for Bigfoot. The news finally finds out that Homer isn't Bigfoot and the Simpson family returns home.

8. Whacking Day, Season 4: The episode starts where Superintendent Chalmers is at Springfield Elementary for an inspection. He is prepared to offer principal Seymour Skinner a higher position when Bart comes through on a tractor, ruining the deal. Skinner is fed up and he expels Bart, leading to Bart getting home-schooled. While that is happening, Springfield is prepared for it's annual tradition of Whacking Day, where the townspeople drive snakes into the town and whack them. However, Bart and Lisa do some work and find out that Whacking Day was made up as an excuse to beat up the Irish. At the end, the holiday is cancelled thanks to Bart and Lisa.

7. Million Dollar Maybe, Season 21: Homer and Marge are preparing to sing at a wedding when Homer gets a fortune cookie that says: "Today is your lucky day". Homer doesn't believe it, but when he crashes into the vending machine and all the candy falls out, and when he finds a CD on the ground, he starts to believe it. He buys a lottery ticket, but ends up missing the wedding. However, he wins the lottery, but he is afraid to tell Marge. So he buys things the family needs and hides them, and at the end he buys Marge a hot air balloon.

6. Treehouse of Horror X, Season 11: Story 1: Homer accidentally drives over Ned Flanders and kills him, and they try to cover up the murder. However, it is revealed that a wolf ran over Flanders and he is not dead, and he beats up Homer. Story 2: Bart and Lisa gain superpowers and become the heroes of the town, but they are stopped by the Collector. He puts them in a plastic bag, but the 2 heroes escape. Story 3: Lisa and Marge go on a rocket to outer space, and Bart and Homer find one to go on too. However, the 2 boys seem to be facing death when they somehow escape.

5. Treehouse of Horror XI, Season 12: Story 1: Homer's horoscope says he will die today, and he tries to get into heaven but can't. Story 2: Bart and Lisa are taken in by a witch, and the witch fattens Bart up, but Homer comes to the rescue and defeats the witch and returns Bart and Lisa back to their cottage. Story 3: Lisa frees the leader of the dolphins at Springfield's Marine World and the dolphins come on land and overtake the humans, forcing them into the ocean.

4. The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson, Season 9: Homer and his friends head to Moe's bar, where they find out that they need to have designated drivers. Homer's friend Barney is chosen, and after dropping Homer off at his house he takes the car to New York City and loses it. Homer is forced to go back to New York, where he had a bad experience as a teenager. While Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie have fun in the city, Homer has to wait for an inspector to come. However, he has to go to the bathroom, and the inspector comes when he is there. He gets fined $250, and to cap off his day the car windshield breaks and garbage flies into his face.

3. Mr. Plow, Season 4: While driving home from Moe's bar, Homer crashes his car into the Simpsons' other car, forcing him to buy a new car. He buys a car they can't afford and works it off by snow-plowing driveways. His business is popular and thriving until Barney starts a snow plow business that is even more popular. Fed up with his friend, Homer sends Barney off onto a high mountain where he is expected to die. However, Homer realizes that he doesn't want Barney to die and saves him.

2. Father Knows Worst, Season 20: While at the Springfield Squidport Homer swallows fire and loses his tasting ability. After a surgery to get it removed, Homer realizes he has super-tasting ability and can only eat the blandest foods, which he finds at Bart and Lisa's school cafeteria. While there, he realizes how dumb Bart is and how unpopular Lisa is. He decides to try and make their lives better, but after the kids enjoy it for a while they stop liking it.

1. Cape Feare, Season 5: Bart receives multiple death threats in the mail and tries to find out who they are from, and he finally finds out at a movie theater; Sideshow Bob! The police are unable to protect Bart, leaving him very frightened. Bart finds out that the rest of his family is not going to be killed, and that Bob only wants Bart because Bart sent Bob to jail. The Simpson family moves to Lake Terror, only to find out that Bob has moved there as well and is ready to kill Bart. However, Bart has one last request, for Bob to sing the entire H.M.S Pinafore. When Bob is done, their boat is in Springfield, and Bob is arrested.
