The Simpsons; Jeopardy
Since sports topics are getting low, until March Madness and the hockey and basketball playoffs come around I will start blogging on other topics until March 7, when the chaotic basketball season begins. For this 3-4 week period, you will see movie, TV and book reviews, along with other possible things. So let's go!
The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an animated cartoon show that airs every Sunday night on FOX and has been running for a record 22 years. As of February 15, 2011, 477 episodes have aired with another set to air Sunday night.
The main character is a 10 year old named Bart who loves to skateboard, play video games, and play pranks. However, in various episodes Bart has been expelled from his school, Springfield Elementary, leading to a lot of chaos.
Bart's 8 year old sister, Lisa, is a lot smarter than Bart but is not popular. Lisa loves playing the saxophone, and playing with her little sister, Maggie. But Lisa has gotten frustrated with her dad, Homer, a couple times, which isn't a pretty sight.
Maggie is the youngest, a baby who doesn't talk but plays a role in the series. Maggie has been known to play hero, the main time being the Simpsons Movie, but she is normally a background character.
The 3 kids mom, Marge, can be strict and has been known to punish Bart. She has blue hair and 2 sisters, Patty and Selma, who can be annoying. In most episodes, Marge does things with either Lisa or Maggie in most episodes, although occasionally she is seen with just Bart.
Last but definitely not least, the dad, Homer. Almost every day Homer and his friends Lenny, Carl and Barney head over to Moe's Bar to get a Duff Beer. When he's not doing that, he's either strangling Bart or watching TV on the couch.
Other characters
Lenny Leonard-Lenny goes to the bar with Homer every night, along with Carl Carlson and Barney Gumbel.
Ralph and Clancy Wiggum-Clancy is the chief of police, and Ralph is his not-so smart son.
Millhouse-Millhouse is Bart's best friend, although he acts a little weird at times.
Nelson Muntz and Jimbo Jones-Nelson and Jimbo are the bullies at Springfield Elementary school.
Moe Sysylak-Moe is the manager of Moe's Bar, where Homer and his friends go every night.
Comic Book Guy-Comic Book Guy possesses a store and is crazy about comics.
Itchy and Scratchy-Itchy and Scratchy is the cartoon Bart and Lisa like, where Itchy always beats up and humiliates Scratchy.
Mr. Burns and Smithers-Mr.Burns is Homer's rich and strict boss, while Smithers is his assistant.
Ned Flanders-Flanders is the Simpsons' neighbor who is very religious. He has 2 kids, Rod and Todd.
Snowball and Santa's Little Helper are the Simpsons' pets, Snowball a cat and Santa's Little Helper a dog.

Right now, Jeopardy is one of the craziest shows. On the show for Monday-Wednesday are Ken and Brad, the 2 best competitors, and a computer named Watson.
Watson is a computer who has a very complex method to come up with answers to the questions asked. He sorts through all kinds of possible answers, picks 3 and develops an answer, all in about a second. Right now him and Brad are tied for first with 5,000 dollars while Ken trails behind around 2,000.
