NBA Update

Boston vs New York (brief)
1 player has the power to turn the Knicks around, and 2 with the Celtics, and that's what has made this rivalry epic again. And the last minute and 10 seconds reinstated this rivalry between the 16-10 Knicks and the 20-4 Celtics.

We pick it up with about a minute and 10 seconds left in the game. Ray Allen is wide open on the wing, and after receiving a pass, he steps back and launches up a 3. The shot drops, and Boston holds a 116-113 lead.

But the Knicks wouldn't give up easily. Danilo Galinari attacked the hoop, and he made the bucket and drew the foul. 1 free throw later, the game was tied at 116.

After some good defense and no points, the Celtics ended up with the ball. Paul Pierce ended up with the ball, and he stepped back and released the ball from about 17 feet away. The ball went in, and with 0.4 seconds left the C's seemed to have the win.

But wait: New York had a chance. Amare Stoudamire, who had 39 points for his 9th straight 30+ point game, got wide open and drilled a 3. The crowd and the Knick bench went crazy! But the refs ruined the celebration by calling the 3 off, and giving the Celtics a hard-earned W.

Boston has won 11 straight games and holds the best record in the Eastern Conference.\

Milwaukee at San Antonio (brief)
Another thriller. A team that is coming off a last-second win against the best team in the NBA. And again, this one was close.

With the score tied at 87, Manu Ginobli got the ball at the wing. He put up a 3, and it went through. San Antonio had the 90-87 edge. But Milwaukee wasn't done.

They made the score 90-88, then with a minute left Brandon Jennings drove to the basket. He put up a shot that hit the front rim and missed, but luckily for the Bucks Drew Gooden tied the game with a tip-in.

This game also came down to the last minute, and again, the ball was in the hands of Manu Ginobli. And again, he came through. Ginobli stepped back and let a fadeaway jumper fly, and the ball ended up in the basket, and San Antonio ended up winners.
