MLB Midseason Report

Now that the Major League Baseball Season is about halfway done, it's time to look at what every team has done and make predictions.

AL East
Right now, the Yankees have been dominating. Nick Swisher has been very clutch for New York, and he has had a big year. The Rays struggled in June, and that cost them the AL lead. The Boston Red Sox struggled early, got back into the race in May, but injures doomed Boston as they fell 6 games out of first place. Toronto fell out of the race in June, while the Orioles cannot win.

AL Central
Another tight race is going on in the AL Central, but the Twins aren't right in the middle of that.Led by Paul Konkero, the White Sox have won 27 of their last 31 games, while the Tigers have come back to take second (by one game). Minnesota is only 2 and a half games back, but they will need to step it up if they want to win the division. Kansas City and Cleveland are both around 15 games out of first place.

AL West
This year, the Texas Rangers got the final pieces of the puzzle that they needed to dominate. They signed Vladimir Guerrero, who has 20 home runs and 76 home runs, they traded for Bengie Molina, who hit for the cycle yesterday, and Josh Hamilton, who has 22 home runs. Texas leads the AL West by 4 and a half games while the Angels trail behind, followed by the 44-46 A's and the surprising last-place Mariners.

Wild Card: Tampa Bay Rays

NL East
This year, the Phillies were expected to dominate the division and get to the World Series again. However, the final piece of the puzzle at the plate, and in the field arrived in Atlanta. Rookie Jason Heyward has had a great year, and Martin Prado and Troy Glaus stepped up at the plate. The Mets and Phillies have stayed in the race in second, while the Marlins and Nationals are fighting to stay in the race.

NL Central
This year, another surprising team has risen to the top of their division. The Big Red Machine has had a big boost from Joey Votto, which has the Reds in first. Albert Pujous has the Cardinals just .5 games back, while Chicago, Milwaukee, Houston, and Pittsburgh are still in the race.

NL West
Another surprisng team has taken tops in the NL. The San Diego Padres lead the NL West by 3 games, because of a great season by Adrian Gonzalez. The Rockies are around that time where they make a midseason run, and the Dodgers are right there with Colorado. The Giants are right behind the Dodgers, while the D-Backs are far behind.
