2011 NBA Playoffs; Amazing Rally Propels Heat to NBA Finals

LeBron was getting fouled hard. The Miami Heat were having a hard time. Chicago was coasting to a 76-64 lead in the fourth quarter.

So what do they do?

Just make impossible shots.

That'll help.

LeBron knocked down two key jumpers in a span of 30 seconds, Derrick Rose missed a huge free throw late and the Heat survived the Bulls 83-80. LeBron scored 28 and grabbed 11 boards.

With the Heat down 79-72 and 1:31 left, Dwyane Wade made a huge play. He took a three, got fouled, made the three, and knocked down the foul shot. On the next Miami possession, it was Bron Bron's turn.

LeBron stepped up, used a screen to get open on the left wing, and drained a three. The Heat stole the ball on a deflected pass, and James knocked down another huge jumper. Miami had their first lead since the first quarter.

However, it didn't look like the lead would last long. Derrick Rose was fouled, and he made the first shot, but the second hit the side rim and missed. Chris Bosh was sent to the line.

Bosh drained two free throws and gave Chicago the ball. The Bulls needed a three to tie, and Rose was denied when LeBron blocked his attempt. It was Miami-Dallas in the Finals!

The Bulls looked like the better team on the stat sheet, but free throws were the real key. Miami made 25 free throws, and Chicago made 15. The Bulls shooting was pretty bad, and while the Heat weren't that good from the field, they made the key shots to win the game.

Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks await the Heat. In just four days, the NBA Finals will be on. The first game will be Tuesday night in South Beach.

By taking a different approach and shutting down Derrick Rose, Miami dominated Chicago, won four straight games, and made it to the ultimate goal. Now, they just have to shut down Dirk like they did D-Rose. But that's easier said then done.

Jason Terry, Peja Stojavokic, and Jason Kidd are all great shooters, and if you leave them open, they will make you pay (just ask the Lakers). And Dirk, well, he can make shots that leave you breathless.

Chicago looked like they wanted this badly at the start, but they stopped making shots and failed to score when they needed to. Derrick Rose wasn't clutch, just like Game 4, and Miami walked away with the prize.
