2011 NBA Draft; Where will Kemba, Jimmer, and the rest go?
Jimmer Fredette has dominated college basketball, yet people think he won't go in the Top 10. That's true, he probably won't, but if I were a Top 10 team, I would definitely take Fredette. What leads these teams to pass on college stars and take players that they've hardly even seen play.
This year, players from other countries will probably get picked before Kemba or Jimmer. Jimmer will most likely get picked 10th-14th, or late lottery. He isn't super-athletic, and he's not great on defense, but he finds ways to score easily. He led college hoops in scoring. I think Fredette goes to Phoenix.
Phoenix's guards are worn out, and Steve Nash is past his prime. He still averages 11.4 assists per game, but he is definitely near the end of his career. Before Jimmer takes over, he could help Nash dish out even more assists. Fredette can score from almost anywhere, and when he shoots that jump shot, you'd better pray it doesn't go in.
Kemba Walker is a very athletic player who has a crossover like Chris Paul, a jump shot like Michael Jordan, and speed like Dwayne Wade. Walker led Connecticut to a national championship by dishing out assists, draining jumpers, and pulling down boards. Kemba is a complete player everyone wants on their team, but I think Walker will end up with the Cavaliers.
Cleveland has been torn since LeBron left, losing 26 in a row at one point in the season. Mo Williams was traded to the Clippers, and the Cavaliers brought Baron Davis into the mess. Kemba Walker could definitely help the Cavaliers like he helped Connecticut. Davis and Kemba will work well together, and they could definitely add more wins to Cleveland's side.
Brandon Knight could go to either Sacramento or Utah. Sacramento is in need of a point guard, while Utah is in desperate need of a shooting guard. I think Utah should go for Jimmer or Kemba instead of Knight, while I think Sacramento should take another Kentucky player. Knight can drive, he can shoot, and he can pass.
He will need time to develop in Sacramento, and he is no John Wall, but he can still have a successful career with the Kings. Knight is a great player with lots of talent and he can use it in Sacramento.
