MWC In The BCS?
Does the Mountain West conference deserve a BCS Bid?
The question runs through all college football fans' minds. Has TCU proven it? Probably not. Has BYU proven it? 2 days ago with a victory over Oklahoma. And, before Sam Bradford was injured, it was 10-7 Oklahoma. Bradford was injured, BYU's defense played well, and a GW drive by Max Hall and BYU won 14-13.
Utah proved it by beating Alabama and going 13-0. The Utes finished 2nd in the AP poll. Colorado State also beat Colorado last night 23-17. The Mountain West has to schedule tougher games to get a BCS bid. TCU plays 2 ACC teams [Virginia and Clemson] that are both winnable for TCU.
The MWC always has 2 ranked teams, and Utah plays Oregon, TCU plays Clemson and Virginia, BYU played Oklahoma, etc. The BCS should give the MWC a bid in the Allstate Sugar Bowl vs. the SEC winner. The MWC handled the SEC last year [Utah 31, Alabama 17]. The BCS should decide after 2009.
