Yanks or Sox
The Excitement! The amazement! The....AL East? That's right, the AL East race has been controlled by the Yankees now, and they have won 3 straight over the Sox. The series finale is tonight at 5 PT. Here are some reasons why the race is tougher than you think.
Reason #1: The Red Sox won the first 8 games of the Yanks-BoSox series, and finishing off the Yankees in maybe 5 or 6 of the next seven, and having a 7-3 or 6-4 record average every ten games can get the Sox the division title.
Reason #2: Except for a series with the Angels and a road series with the Yankees, the Red Sox have a very easy schedule. The Yanks and Sox both have Chicago { AL], Tampa Bay, and the Yankees play Toronto a lot.
Reason #3: The Red Sox know the Yankees are a great home team, and the Yankees would have a huge advantage at home since the Sox have a lead in the Wild Card standings.
Here are the AL East standings
Yankees 68-42
Red Sox 62-47 5.5
Rays 61-49 7
Blue Jays 52-57 15.5
Orioles 46-64 22
