NBA PLAYOFF MADNESS

As the NBA Playoffs gains more excitement, let's review Wednesday's games. New Orleans vs. Denver: Chauncey Billups scored 31, Carmelo Anthony scored 22 and that trade [Iverson for Billups] not only led Denver to a 2 seed, but now up 2-0 with 113-84 and 108-93 blowouts, they are on the right path heading into New Orleans for the next 2 games. Led by much improved players, the Nuggets have the team to beat the Lakers and the Cavs, if they play like the team that can do it. It will be harder in New Orleans, but I like the Hornets and Nuggets to split and the Nuggets to finish them off in 5. Game 3 is on Saturday the 25th at 10:00 AM Pacific. It is in New Orleans on ESPN. Heat-Hawks: The Heat needed to respond: they scored 64, lost by 26, and Dwayne Wade scored 19 but was the entire team. D-Wade responded well, and the 5th year player from Marquette scored 33 points and dished 7 assists as Atlanta's 3rd and 4th quarter comeback attempt wasn't enough, and Flip Murray's buzzer-beater to end the 3rd, giving Atlanta the momentum wasn't enough as Miami cruised to a 108-93 victory. The Hawks expected the Heat to go inside, but they went outside, and took a 54-41 halftime lead. When Atlanta started guarding him well, he still shined, and his counterpart, Daquean Cook, scored 20 points on 6-9 shooting from downtown. Mike Bibby had 18 and Josh Smith had 17 with 10 rebounds. Game 3 is on Saturday the 25th at 6:30 ET in Miami. I like Miami led by D-Wade/Flash. 76ers vs. Magic: Howard and co. knew there was some way to respond. Dwight Howard and Courtney Lee, the rookie from Western Kentucky, led Orlando over Philly 96-87. Lee scored 24 points, Hedo Turkolugo scored 16, and while fouled out, Dwight Howard watched nervously as Philadelphia erased a big deficit, but Courtney Lee has averaged 21 points in the playoffs, and Lee's 3 point shooting was the main key as Lee has done very well in the first round, in his first playoff games. Howard scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but luckilly Lee, Turkolugo, and a little bit Rashard Lewis led Orlando to victory. Game 3 is on Friday the 24th at 8:00 PM ET in Philly. I like Howard to have a 20-20 game, Courtney Lee to go for 22 and Orlando's guard play and Turkolugo [Lewis and Lee] to lead Orlando 105-94. Thursday's games are LA Lakers-Utah, Bulls-Celtics, and Spurs-Mavs. The MAvs, Bulls, and Jazz are the home teams and lower seeds.
