NBA PLAYOFF MADNESS/5 Comment post

Cavs-Pistons. Bulls-Celtics. Magic-76ers. Heat-Hawks. Lakers-Jazz. Nuggets-Hornets. Mavs-Spurs. Rockets-Trail-blazers.

All 8 of these exciting first round playoff matchups go into second, and then 3rd, and the Finals. As exciting as it sounds, a big rivalry series between 2 East powerhouses. And, believe it or not, it is a 1-8 series. After a regular season record of 39-43, Detroit hosts the next 2 games trailing 2-0.

As dominant as it seems, the Bulls won game 1 in OT, lost on a buzzer-beating 3 in Game 2 but got blown out at HOME by Boston 107-86.

Dallas took a 2-1 series lead over San Antonio with a 88-67 blowout, holding the Spurs to their lowest playoff total in a game ever. See Mavs-Spurs Game 3 for more details.

In Game 1 of Heat-Hawks, Atlanta held Miami to 64 points in a 90-64 win. That tied the lowest amount of points allowed by Atlanta in the playoffs ever. But D-Wade lit the arena up in Game 2, scoring 33 points with lights-out shooting from downtown, as the Heat rolled to a 108-93 win.

In Mavs-Spurs Game 1, the Mavs had to rally in the second half to beat the Spurs 105-97. Cleveland, led by Lebron James blew out Detroit twice.

In games 1 and 2 the LA Lakers beat Utah by 13 and 10, where Kobe Bryant shined, but in Game 3 Utah had a buzzer-beater by Deron Williams to shock Utah [see Lakers-Jazz Game 3 for details].

I Rockets-Trail-blazers Game 1, Yao Ming was perfect from the field, Aaron Brooks scored 27 points in a 108-81 blowout. In Game 2, Brandon Roy scored 42 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 27 points and 12 boards with some nice crowd electrifying shots, as they were able to overcome another good performance by Aaron Brooks, who scored 23 points and dished 5 assists. In Game 3, we are expecting a jump shot feast with 25+ poits by Brooks and Roy.

In Hornets-Nuggets, the Hornets host the next 2 games but trail 2-0 because of the great shootig, 3 point shooting performances by Chauncey Billups, and then Melo has chipped in a little bit.

In Magic-76ers, the Sixers rallied from 18 down, and Andre Igudola hit a jumper with 2.2 seconds left, ad he faded away to the right while shooting. In Game 2 Courtney Lee of the Magic had 24 points, a great rookie effort by him as him and Hedo Turkolugo led Orlando over Philly 96-87. Howard had 11 and 10 boards before fouling out with 3 minutes left.
