All-Star Festivities and more

Sprite Slam Dunk Contest Nate Robinson became the first player ever to win 3 Sprite Slam Dunk contests as he got 51% of the fans vote with a dunk where he tossed the ball of the backboard, then he turned around and he slammed it home on the reverse jam. DeMar DeRozan, the Raptors rookie, did a dunk where he swung the ball around his hips and he slammed it in, but the Cowboys cheerleaders Nate used might have been a little much. DeRozan won the Dunk-In vs. Eric Gordon of the Clippers last night, but even his dunk that got him to the finals wasn't enough. Teammate Sonny Weems tossed the ball off the side of the backboard, and DeRozan grabbed it and he completed the reverse jam. He got a perfect score of 50. Robinson got in with a dunk where he bounced the ball near the hoop and slammed it in. Shannon Brown and Gerald Wallace where the other contestants. Super Bowl History

The Super Bowl has featured each of these 3 things: high television ratings, excitement, and fun. All three of those things have been demonstrated in Super Bowls I-XLIII, and Super Bowl XLIV looks to be just as promising. Can the Colts and Saints live up to their expectations? We will find out on Super Bowl Sunday. Super Bowl I In Super Bowl I, the Vince Lombardi led Packers defeated Len Dawson and Kansas City 35-10. Super Bowl II Green Bay was back at it, and in Vince Lombardi's last game as Packer coach Green Bay defeated Oakland 33-14. Super Bowl III Jets quarterback Joe Namath guaranteed a Jets win and the Jets defense, who intercepted Baltimore Colts QB Earl Morrall 3 times, proved to be key in the Jets 16-7 win over Baltimore. The game proved that the AFL could compete with the NFL. Super Bowl IV Len Dawson threw 1 TD pass and was named Super Bowl I MVP as the Chiefs beat the Vikings 23-7.
