Super Bowl History
The Super Bowl has featured each of these 3 things: high television ratings, excitement, and fun. All three of those things have been demonstrated in Super Bowls I-XLIII, and Super Bowl XLIV looks to be just as promising. Can the Colts and Saints live up to their expectations? Super Bowl I
In Super Bowl I, the Vince Lombardi led Packers defeated Len Dawson and Kansas City 35-10.
Super Bowl II
Green Bay was back at it, and in Vince Lombardi's last game as Packer coach Green Bay defeated Oakland 33-14.
Super Bowl III
Jets quarterback Joe Namath guaranteed a Jets win and the Jets defense, who intercepted Baltimore Colts QB Earl Morrall 3 times, proved to be key in the Jets 16-7 win over Baltimore. The game proved that the AFL could compete with the NFL.
Super Bowl IV
Len Dawson threw 1 TD pass and was named Super Bowl I MVP as the Chiefs beat the Vikings 23-7.
Super Bowl V
Jim O'Brien kicked the GW 32 yard field goal and the Colts beat the Dallas Cowboys 16-13.
Super Bowl VI
The Cowboys came through this time and beat the Dolphins 24-3.
Super Bowl VII
The Dolphins Jake Scott was named Super Bowl MVP for intercepting 2 passes and the Dolphins completed the NFL's only perfect season at 17-0.
Super Bowl VIII
Miami defeated Minnesota 24-7 for back-to-back titles.
Super Bowl IX
The Vikings were held to 18 rushing yards and missed opportunities cost them in a 16-6 loss to Pittsburgh

A great catch by Lynn Swann proved to be the winning points in Pittsburgh's 21-17 win over Dallas.
