Tennessee vs. Michigan State

Michigan State had been a powerful basketball program for a decade. More powerful then Indiana, UCLA, probably even North Carolina. And the dominance was meant to continue today.

      It did.

But Summers hit 2 3's, and then he hit a jumper before Draymond Green's 3 point play to give Michigan State a 21-16 lead. But Melvin Goins hit a 3 for Tennessee, and then they tied the score at 21. Cameron Tatum then hit a 3, and Tennessee led 24-22. They took a 28-22 lead after 4 of 5 free throws were sank by Tatum.

But Korie Lucious converted a 3 point play, and another bucket put MSU up 33-32. Draymond Green hit a layup at the buzzer to cut the Tennessee lead to 41-39 at the half. Tennessee took a 47-42 lead, then Durrell Summers and Chris Allen made 3's. A jumper by Summers tied the game at 50, and a free throw put them up 51-50. Korie Lucious hit a 3, and then Draymond Green drove to the hoop and converted a 3 point play to give State a 59-51 lead.

Tennessee then scored 6 straight, but Chris Allen hit a jumper from the left baseline. Tennessee answered, and they took the lead on a jumper by Brian Williams. Williams then airballed a free throw, keeping the Tennessee lead at 64-63. Green converted another 3 point play to give MSU a 66-64 lead. Tennessee tied it at 66, but Summers then hit a 3 swish from the left perimeter to put MSU up 69-66.

Brian Williams grabbed a great rebound and threw down a dunk, and with :11 Scotty Hopson, a 59.5% foul shooter made 1 of 2 free throws. With 1.8 left Raymar Morgan drew a foul and made 1 of 2 free throws, and J.P Prince airballed a halfcourt shot to give Sparty a second straight Final Four trip. Michigan State will play Butler Saturday at 6:07 PM ET.
