Stanley Cup Finals

Who could have thought?

In Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, the Pittsburgh Penguins were able to hold off the Detroit Red Wings 2-1, gaining revenge on the champs of 07-08. Max Talbot scored both goals in Game 7.

During the playoffs, Evgeni Malkin scored 36 goals on his way to becoming playoff MVP. Sidney Crosby also became the youngest captian to hoist the Stanley Cup.

The Pens were also only the 4th team to win a Stanley Cup after being down 2-0. The Red Wings won 2, the Penguins won 2, the Red Wings won 1 and the Penguins won 2.

With 6 seconds, the Red Wings got off 2 amazing shots but were both stopped by Marc-Andre Fluery. The Pens led 2-0, then the Wings scored, and with around 4-5 minutes left the Red Wings shot one that Fluery missed, but it hit the top of the goal and missed.

Bad teams in the past allowed the Pens to draft Malkin, Crosby [captain], Fleury, Jordan Staal, and Max Talbot, who scored both goals. All those players except Talbot are the Penguins stars'.

Penguins champs gear is available and coming here soon!
