James Jones scored 10 points in 41 seconds to shorten the halftime lead, and the Heat closed the first half on a 19-2 run. The Heat expected Atlanta's best shot, because it is very hard to win 3 in a row to take a playoff series. The Heat started off shooting 5-23, while the Hawks shot well and led by as much as 44-23, but Miami ended the half on a 19-2 run, shortening the lead to 46-42.
